Now Offering Trauma-Informed Education Through Workshops

19th March 2018

Trauma Infomred Educationj

We are now offering trauma-informed education through a four-part workshop for patients, educators, veterans, civilians, family members and emergency responders. Our goal is to provide trauma-informed education to our patients and our community. The workshops will consist of four (half- day) sessions focusing on identifying trauma and PTSD, symptoms of trauma, the effects of trauma on our physical and mental health, and how we can move beyond stigma toward recovery.

About Our Facilitator

Our facilitator, Bethany McGowan, is a trained therapist who currently works at our clinic providing both individual and group therapy services. She also currently facilitates our PTSD support group, New Pathways. She holds a BA in psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She is registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers.
